Description
The Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve is a fine corner of the world to enjoy a peaceful, scenic walk with your canine! Set among 24 acres of dense Californian forest, the Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve Trail offers a shady walk in the woods with your woofer on a hot summer's day. It's located about one mile from Paradise Beach Park, making it a quick and easy location to explore the great outdoors and work in a bit of exercise. This trail is not heavily trafficked, so your hike will be serene and without much disturbance.

The trailhead begins with a set of steps and a sign marking the loop trail entrance. From here, be pawpared to continue with a steady climb through the dense forest landscape until you reach open grassland. The path is narrow, designed for hikers-only, so no need to worry about mountain bikers on this trail. After the grassland, you'll continue your way through a meadow and a small pocket of the forest before re-entering grassland. On your way, keep an eye out for native plants, like California Bay, and various wildlife. You will see a bench, where you can stop to take a break and enjoy the panoramic views.

Once beyond the grassland, you have the option of continuing your climb to reach Old St. Hillary's Open Space Preserve, thus stretching your overall hike, or continuing along the Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve Trail which will descend through lush forest groves leading back to the trailhead. The descent can be steep in some areas, so watch your step!

Overall, this trail is a woofderful outlet for you and your canine to enjoy each other's company while exploring out in nature. Dog are allowed on-leash only, so be respectful of the land and of the laws. Remember, pack out what you pack in (including removing your pup's waste) to keep the Preserve clean and tidy for fellow hikers and doggies.
