Cobbs Creek Trail

This pawfectly natural trail along Cobbs Creek runs 3.7 miles, and is flat and relatively easy for anyone. Your furbuddy will enjoy the plethora of wildlife scents along this paved pathway while you enjoy the views. Even though you are still close to the city, you certainly won’t feel like it as you meander along the banks of Cobbs Creek in the shade of the giant oak and pine trees.

Delaware River Trail

The Delaware River Trail hugs the banks of the river while taking you and Fifi on a 2.1-mile trek alongside parks and other recreational amenities. Starting at Penn’s Landing Road, this asphalt path is both wheelchair and stroller accessible, so it is pawpular with the residents, and there is a dog park right there at Penn’s Landing. You and your poochie will enjoy the scenery, and the entire path is dotted with wildflowers and greenery.

Boxer's Trail

This 3.8-mile loop trail that starts in East Fairmount Park takes you and Fifi on an adventure through the thick woods, meandering along the Schuylkill River to Mount Pleasant, where you can get a pawesome view of the surrounding beauty. Named after the boxers who used to use the trail daily, you and your pupster will enjoy the crushed gravel path and wild critters that visit the path.

East Impoundment Trail

The East Impoundment Trail starts on Lindbergh Boulevard and brings you on a 3-mile loop around the Heinz Refuge while meandering along Darby Creek. There’s informative signs along the path to help you learn more about the native plants and the area, and Fifi will love the birds and other critters that live in these woods. Be sure you bring your camera to get some selfies of you and the poochie.

John Bartram's Garden Trail

This dog-furiendly hike is about 3 miles long and starts in John Bartram’s Garden, where you will see the most pawesome array of flowers in Pennsylvania. Meandering through the dahlias and camellias, you will likely see some rabbits and other wildlife enjoying the flora. The bridge past the wooded area features a gorgeous view of the Schuylkill River and the island before you get to the wetlands where the boardwalks will keep you dry.

Laurel Hill Cemetery Victorian Trail

As long as you and your canine kid are not afraid of ghosts, this 25-mile trail is an excellent workout through the cemetery where the variety of diffurent trees and flowers will amaze and delight you. You and your poochie will pass more than 33,000 monuments dedicated to many historical figures, philanthropists, politicians, and inventors. There’s tons of photo ops here, so don’t furget your camera.

Audubon Loop Trail

This furrific 2.5-mile loop trail is paved, so it is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and very pawpular with the residents in the area. Your adventure begins in the Perkiomen Valley Park where you will cross the Perkiomen Creek and turn into the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. You’ll see lots of wildflowers as well as wild animals here, so keep Fifi on a leash.

Pennypack Trail

The Pennypack Trail is approximately 5.4 miles of former rail line running from Rockledge Borough to Byberry Road in Montgomery County. This 12-foot wide gravel path is easy on the paws as you and your pupster cross over streams and valleys on various bridges, including a new 165-foot steel bridge. With furrific views of the Delaware River and the greater Philadelphia area, this wooded trek is a furfect place to see some wild critters and wildflowers.

Forbidden Drive Trail

This easy 5.5-mile hike is a pawesome path inside Wissahickon Valley Park during any season. In the spring and summer, you will see tons of wildflowers and greenery, while autumn provides views of the most stunning fall foliage in the state. The trail meanders along Wissahickon Creek where you can see some waterfowl and other critters enjoying the water. You and your poochie will also pass a statue of the last Lenni-Lenape Chief, as well as the red covered bridge.

Schuylkill Trail at Schuylkill Banks

This is Philadelphia’s most pawpular hike, which follows the Schuylkill River from Center City to Oaks for about 27 miles, eventually connecting to Valley Forge which offers more trails to extend your adventure. The trail is mostly flat and paved, with some pawesome views of the Schuylkill River, and there is even a fenced dog run at the Schuylkill River Park for Fifi to run free.
