Located in beautiful Burbank, California, you are in for a bit of a fitness workout and a pup-tastic challenge. This 2.3-mile roundtrip path starts with a climb and doesn’t stop. Any fitness-level person or pup could finish the hike, however it is best suited for those with higher pup-abilities! This trail is rated as moderate because of its steep sections, but offers a well-maintained dirt path.
Beautiful sights are yours as you climb and at the summit. At the top, you can enjoy of Burbank and the Los Angeles area. There are places where you will see blooming flowers in the spring and lots of birds, so binoculars are a good item to place in your backpack. You will have reached the radio tower at the top which can provide a bit of shade or sit on the provided bench. Let your pup rest his weary paws and just enjoy the view.
Your trip back to the park is an easy descent where you can pick up the pace a bit from the climb up. The trail is not very crowded as it is a well-kept secret which makes for a bit of a respite from city life. The parking is free at the trailhead in the park. Restrooms and water are also accessible there before you start your trek.Â

Although this trail can be challenging, there is a bench at the halfway mark which allows you to rest. The trail can become quite muddy in the rainy season.
