Neponset is bordered the by Neponset River on the east and south, Adams Street on the west, and the Clam Point neighborhood on the north side. Interstate 93 and train tracks run along the water on the east side and create an impediment to pedestrians and pets accessing the waterfront.

Waterfront parks and trails make ideal places for a stroll with your pup, but residents need to traverse the tracks, commercial area, and interstate safely. The terrain in the area is hilly and tends to slope more steeply towards the river. If you or your dog has mobility issues, steep grades can be an issue when walking in the region.

Residential areas are concentrated to the west and homes in the area feature historic architecture with attractively landscaped properties. These properties have large trees that provide shade in the summer. Sidewalks are prevalent in the neighborhood and provide safe, separate walkways for you and your dog on neighborhood strolls.
