To the northwest, the Fresh Pond Reservation provides 162 acres of open natural space surrounding the 155-acre Fresh Pond reservoir. Kingsley Park is located along the reservoir and this scenic park has paved walking trails, open green lawns, and plenty of shady trees. Greenways from this park extend around the reservoir and provide a nice long walking path that is perfect for those with energetic pups.
Nearby, Riverbend Park is located along the Charles River. This is a traffic-free park with trails and access to the river bank. Lowell Park provides recreational facilities like basketball backstops and paved surfaces, seating areas, a climbing structure for local children, and a water/artwork element, as well as plenty of trees and green spaces. Other parks in the neighborhood include Larch Road Park and Longfellow Park.
