North Hills is a neighborhood in the Sligo Creek area of Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburban community tucked just north of the city limits of Washington, DC. Like many of the towns in Maryland and Virginia that border Washington, Silver Spring is a pleasant residential space full of middle and upper-class commuters and their families. North Hills is located right next to the Sligo Creek golf course which is a popular attraction for residents of the neighborhood.
The weather in Silver Spring is typical of many mid-Atlantic cities and towns: very hot and humid in the summertime, but still cold and occasionally windy in the winter. If you walk in either of these seasons, make sure to take the proper precautions for both you and your dog in case of either extreme. However, the transitional seasons of fall and spring can be lovely in Silver Spring with temperatures hovering between 50 and 70 degrees.

You aren’t likely to deal with much foot or street traffic during the day, but rush hour times can still become busy on the main roads. If you are looking to avoid some of the commotions of Silver Spring, it will be best to stick to the golf course and wooded areas of the North Hills neighborhood to enjoy a quieter stroll.

South Four Corners Park is just a few feet away from the eastern edge of Argyle. It is 4 acres in size and designed more for casual park goers than those looking for athletic facilities.
