Durham experiences all four seasons distinctly. The summers can be quite hot and humid while the winters are cold, wet, and have mild snowfall. The fall and spring are more mild in nature.
The boundaries of City Center include West Morgan Street to the north, North Magnum Street to the southeast, and Ramseur Street to the southwest. West Main Street, a major roadways through the city, also runs through City Center and is home to many local restaurants and bars.
There is a large, open, unnamed greenway next to the Durham Performing Arts Center, located to the south of the neighborhood. While there are no paths, little foliage, and your pup will need to remain leashed, it is a nice grassy area for when your pet needs to relieve themselves.
To the north of the neighborhood, pedestrians will find Durham Central Park which typically hosts several special events throughout the year. However, less than half a mile to the east of City Center, you will find the Downtown Durham Dog Park! This off-leash area has a small dog and a large dog area, benches, and waste collectors.
