The area is a residential space which has quite a bit of housing, so you'll want to be cautious about drifting into front yards. It is popular with families who enjoy the outdoors and given its distance from the Raleigh downtown, the neighbourhood can offer residents a real sense of escape from urban life. Having said that, Raleigh is easily accessible should it need to be!
Unfortunately, the Holiday Estates neighborhood is lacking in parks. The Neuse River Trail is the closest green space to the area but remains a short drive away. However, the trail is most definitively worth the journey. The Neuse River Trail boasts breathtaking scenery and a nice waterfall to enjoy. People come from across neighboring areas to walk this trail and its not hard to see why it is so popular.
Anderson Point Park is another great spot to take your pup to blow off some steam. Dog walking is really enjoyable in this lush park as long as you keep your pup on their leash throughout.
West of the area lies Worthdale Park. This is also a wonderful option for dog walking. The park offers woodland, lush fields, and plenty of space to run.
