Most residents walking their dog in the neighborhood enjoy the quiet residential streets.

Plan summer walks for cooler times of the day and when storms are not imminent. Spring can be rainy this close to the ocean, so an umbrella will keep you and your pooch dry. Northeast Teaneck is situated north of Route 4 and south of the community of Bergenfield. The terrain is not steep, but there are some hills in the area that you will need to climb when walking around.

Most of the region contains single-family homes that feature unique historic architecture and sit on large well-landscaped properties with lawns, trees, and landscaping features. Main thoroughfares like Teaneck Road and the commercial area on the west have more traffic and you will need to keep your dog securely leashed and be vigilant in these areas. The tracks on the western border and Route 4 on the southern border are not pedestrian-friendly areas. However, schools, parks, and quiet residential roads make ideal walking locations for you and your dog with sidewalls, tree-lined shady streets, and some grassy berms creating soft, cool footing for your canine companion on your daily outings together.
