Puffin Way
This neighborhood is home to one of the largest and most popular parks in Teaneck: the Teaneck Creek Conservancy. Dogs are allowed on-leash in this great park. The park is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk, and it features three short but scenic walking trails that pass by gardens, wetlands, and ponds. You can also walk along the lovely Teaneck Creek. After you finish your stroll, have a picnic in the conservancy’s picnic area. One visitor nicknamed this park “Little Eden,” and after you spend the day here, you’ll see why!

Hillcrest Street
This residential neighborhood is home to Terhune Park, a small park that offers great views of the Hackensack River. You can also pick up the Teaneck Greenway in this park. This trail is the perfect place to take your dog for a nice long walk. The trail goes along the Hackensack River, and it offers beautiful views the whole way through. As you meander along the flat, paved trail, you’ll get to see native plants and trees. There are also plenty of benches along the way where you can rest and enjoy the view with your pup.

Willow Tree Road
If you’d like to take your dog to an off-leash dog park, head over to Teaneck’s neighboring city, Leonia. Here, your dog can run free at the Overpeck County Park Dog Run. This dog park has separate small and large dog areas and plenty of space for your pup to run around. There are no water fountains in the dog park, so make sure to bring a water bottle to fill your dog’s bowl. If your dog is still itching for a walk after playing in the dog park, put them back on their leash and take them for a long walk on Overpeck County Park’s fitness trail.

Howland Avenue
For a great off-leash dog park, head to Howland Avenue in Paramus, which is just four miles from Teaneck. Here, you’ll find Van Saun County Park’s dog run. This dog park has separate large and small dog areas where your pup can run around and make friends. The park does occasionally run out of doggie bags, so you might want to bring a bag or two with you just in case. Also, be sure to bring a water bottle for your dog. After your dog is finished playing, treat them to a snack at the nearby Panera Bread. Dogs are welcome on Panera’s outdoor patio.

Prospect Avenue
Located about twelve miles from Teaneck, Prospect Avenue is home to the peaceful Wood Dale County Park. This 118-acre park has a pond where you can go fishing, as well as shady picnic pavilions and a long pedestrian walkway where you can take your dog for walks. The park is also home to a fun dog run. This dog run has separate areas for small and large dogs. It also has buckets of water for your dog to drink, and it has doggie bags available. Bring a toy or a Frisbee and have a ball playing with your pup in this dog park!
