Eli was on time and very communicative leading up to the walk. Omar sometimes takes a minute to warm up to male walkers but he ran right out to Eli and was very relaxed. Great walker overall!

For a day out in nature, you will find Churchill Nature Preserve in Englewood Cliffs. This woodland area is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, with plenty of red maple and black birch trees, as well as sniff-tastic terrain to explore. For a loop around the Churchill Nature Preserve, you can take your dog on the blue trail, which also has signs along the way so that you can learn about the flora and fauna that you can find. Your pup can join you here, but it is best to keep them on their leash.

Englewood City Center

The City Center in the town of Englewood is right next to Englewood Cliffs, only 1.5 miles away. This puptown has lots of delicious dog friendly places to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some quality time with your pup! The Blue Moon Mexican Café has all the tacos you could want, as well as twenty outdoor tables that welcome dogs. If you are a lover of all food, check out Baumgart’s Café for a casual treat and outdoor tables that are dog friendly. If you fancy some craft beer, you can head to Biddy O’Malleys, which has six tables where your furry friend can join you.

Borough Center

The Borough Center of the nearby town of Leonia is paradise for your pup, with the choice of two dog parks! Head southwest for 3.5 miles and you can have a great day out in this puptastic area. At Lakeview Park, you will find Leonia Dog Park, which has a large off-leash area where your pup can roam and run around. There are pet hours, so be sure to check this out before you visit. In Leonia, you can also find Overpeck Park Dog Run. There are fences to allow your dog to explore freely, as well as a separate area for small and large dogs. Be sure to bring some water for your panting pup, as there are metal bowls you can use.

Stillwell Ave/ Anderson Ave

Only 4.5 miles to the south of Englewood Cliffs is the town of Fort Lee. Here you can bring your pup to Fort Lee Dog Park for some exercise and fun. This place is all fenced in, so you can unclip your dog’s leash and let him explore. There are two areas, one for small dogs and another for larger dogs. You can practice training and play, as well as socialize and make new furry friends here at Fort Lee Dog Park. There are also plenty of trees and shade around when the warm weather rolls in. All you have to do is bring your pup’s favorite toys and some water, and you are all set!

Fort Lee Borough Center

If you take a short drive south from Englewood Cliffs, you will reach the Borough Center of Fort Lee, only 3.5 miles away. Here you can find some great places to eat where you and your dog can spend an afternoon in the sun. For casual dining and delicious Italian cuisine, check out In Napoli. This restaurant provides several outdoor tables on the patio, which are dog friendly. If you would like to try some Korean food, the Tea Bar is for you. Not only can you try some tasty treats, but you can also bring your pup along and grab an outside table. Bone-a-petit!
