This fine dining restaurant has 6 dog-friendly tables and couches. Jack’s Lobster Shack is located just down the street, and offers mostly a seafood menu. Jack’s has 3 dog-friendly tables. The Brownstone Pancake Factory at 860 River Road offers unique pancakes that can be eaten at any time of day. The Pancake Factory reserves 14 dog-friendly tables for its customers. La Vecchia Napoli, located at 2 Hilliard Avenue, serves up mostly Italian fare. It has 7 dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Montclair

Montclair is located 20 miles west of Edgewater. Brookdale Dog Park is located at 20 Bellevue Ave. This fully fenced dog park gives dogs a chance to run and socialize with other canines. This dog park has surface made of dusty gravel mulch, which stays in the coats of some dogs. Dogs have agility equipment to play and climb on. Water is available for people and their dogs. Nearby benches give the human companion a chance to watch while their pup plays. Plenty of waste bags are provided, and quick cleanup is expected. The surrounding pathway makes for a leisurely walk on leash for human and dog.

Woodbridge

Woodbridge is 30 miles south of Edgewater. Woodbridge Dog Park is a favorite of locals and visitors from miles around. Here, dogs can be dogs. Off-leash socialization begins the second pup enters one of the two entrances. Small dogs have a separate area all their own. Whichever area your dog needs, your furry friend will have a ton of fun playing with some new friends. This dog park has numerous pieces of colorful plastic agility pieces on which to climb. The dog park has water onsite. Waste bags, too, are in good supply. A gazebo and benches are pluses for the human companion.

Jersey City

Jersey City is 22 miles south of Edgewater. Lincoln Dog Park is located at West Park Drive and Lakeview Drive. This fully fenced dog park gives ample space for your dog to run and play. (A separate enclosure for small dogs may be a recent addition.) The surface is mostly dirt. A few large trees in the dog park provide some shade. Benches and chairs are situated under the trees so the human companion gets some shade while supervising their pup. Waste bags are in ready supply for convenient cleanups. Water is available on-site. A few kiddie pools give dogs a relief from the summer sun.

Ridgewood

Ridgewood is 16 miles north of Edgewater. Ridgewood Bark Park is located at 257 E. Ridgewood Ave. This fully fenced dog park has sufficient room for any dog to get some exercise outdoors. Small dogs have a separate fenced area. A few pieces of agility equipment dot the large dog area, and add some variety in the exercise program. The surface is dirt. Many dogs get a bit dusty or dirty after a ruff day of play in this dog park. This dog park does not have water available, so be sure to bring your own. Walking paths around the dog park with a view of a small duck pond make for some easy on-leash exercise for dog and human companion.
