Park and Erie

Five miles out of Moonachie in Rutherford, you'll find a plethora of awesome restaurants that you and Fido can dine together in. Check out Mambo Tea House which is a causal Cuban style eatery that serves soups, salads, chicken, and seafood, and offers an Asian tea lounge. Matera's On Park dishes out classical American comfort food in a casual setup. Blarney Station is the place to go if you like sports. They offer authentic Irish dishes and have traditional American bar bites. All of these pawsome restaurants have dog friendly patios for you and Fido to enjoy a nice meal together.

Little Ferry

For a little beer tasting with your pup by your side, head to Brix City Brewing, which only four minutes out of Moonachie in the town of Little Ferry. This brewery offers a variety of full-flavored lagers and ales year around and even offers seasonal imperial stouts. If you and your pup would rather grab a bite to eat, then head into Palermo's Cafe and Bakery. This multi-faceted shop offers everything from cakes and pasteries to sandwiches and pizzas. Both restaurants have a spacious outdoor patio that is dog friendly and welcomes your pup to join you.

Lyndhurst

The Riverside County Park is a great spot to take Fido for a nice afternoon walk. Located in Lyndhurt, Riverside County Park is only six miles out of Moonachie and offers a great dog park where your furry friend can run around off leash. The dog park is divided into a section for large dogs and a section for small dogs, with water with bowls and toys available for your dog to play with. For owners, there are benches to sit on and plenty of trees to help provide shade. The park is known to have ice cream trucks and food vendors, so you and Fido can grab a bite to eat once you're done at the park.

Athenia

The Nash Park Dog Park in Clifton is only ten miles out of Moonachie and a pawsome place to let Fido run around off leash and meet some new friends. The park offers tons of green space for your dog to run, roll, and play fetch on. The park does not offer a lot of shade, so make sure to bring plenty of water to help keep Fido hydrated and don't forget your clean-up bags. After a fun day at the park, grab some food right across the street from the dog park at Kim and Carlo's Hot Dog Stand, where you and your pup can grab a hot dog and be on your way.

Brookdale

Fourteen miles out of Moonachie is the Brookedale Dog Park in Bloomfield. Your dog won't mind the short drive to this pawsome dog park which offers a separated area for large and small dogs. The park also includs doggie water fountains, a dog washing station, and agility equipment for those dogs who love jumping and climbing. They even offer clean-up bags just in case you forget yours at home. After a fun day out at the park, head over to Hot Bagels Abroad for some food. They serve paninis, sandwiches, burgers, and cheesesteaks with an outdoor patio that is dog friendly.
