2 Eateries
3 Groomers

Garfield, New Jersey is conveniently located just a short drive away from muttropolitan areas like New York City, Newark, and Patterson, so people and pups are never far from the amenities of the big city. A dog with a medical need, though, doesn't have to leave Garfield, because there are three veterinary clinics in town. Garfield also has eleven municipal parks, but all of them prohibit dogs. Many dogs can be seen there anyway, so maybe someday the city will rethink its ban.

There are plenty of places to chow down with your hound in Garfield, though! A fun one to check out is Boiler Room Pints & Pies, located at 133 Monroe Street. This restaurant lets well-behaved dogs inside the restaurant to dine. Boiler Room is the place to be on one of those cold New Jersey days. This restaurant serves up some bar fare and even serves some free pizza! This unique place is open seven days a week, with hours from 2 pm until 2 am Monday through Saturday, with Sunday hours from 12  pm until 2 am.

For those warmer days, a visit to Bistro 399 will satisfy that craving for something a little different. Bistro is located at 399 Midland Avenue and serves Mediterranean and American food. This restaurant has twelve dog-friendly outdoor tables. Not feeling all that exotic? A craving for Italian food can be satisfied at La Cambusa on 317 River Drive. A person with a canine companion is welcome to dine at one of the several patio tables.
