I have been a dog sitter and taking care of animals for years. I have taken care of 12 different cats and 9 different dogs. Any breed and size is great and no problem. I can provide anything the owner will like (play for a certain amount of time, feed, walks at certain times). Early morning feedings and walks are absolutely no problem. Baths and brushing can be given as well. Owners will have to tell me the pets medical history as well to further prepare me for anything (allergies, medicine, etc). House rules are also very important (no pet on furniture, no human food, no rolling in grass, etc). Also pet friendly is a must to know. I will be very happy to go to pet parks but the owner must let me know the pets friendliness with other animals.
Located about 13 miles north of Jersey City, the borough of Hasbrouck Heights is a primarily residential area. The community is conveniently located near a number of parks and trails that allow dogs. If you're looking for a veterinarian for your pooch, start by checking out the three clinics in the borough.
For a pawtastic park adventure, take your pooch to Van Saun Park, located about eight miles to the north in Paramus. There's an off-leash dog run near the Continental Avenue entrance. You can also put a leash on your pal and jog along the paved trails that wind through this 146-acre facility.
Another park with a dog run is located about six miles southwest from Hasbrouck Heights. Riverside County Park in Lyndhurst has separate fenced areas where large and small dogs can play off-leash. Each play area has benches and water stations for your convenience.
If you want to go hiking in nature with your furry friend, head to Hackensack River County Park, about 5.6 miles northeast of town. This wooded facility borders the river and has nature trails throughout the 28-acre area. Remember to bring water and waste bags with you when you come here.
Hasbrouck Heights provides easy access to several outdoor recreational facilities that allow dogs.
