Located in Essex County, Brookdale is a northern neighborhood of Bloomfield and the home of the pawpular Brookdale Park. This is a huge green area with multiple sports fields and open spaces for outdoor activities, as well as miles of walking trails, summer music festivals, and a dog park. Brookdale Dog Park is a one-of-a-kind spot with two separate sections for small and large mutts, gravel mulch, running water, and agility equipment. If you need to grab a bite, then dig into flavorful and delicious bagels at Hot Bagels Abroad, offering dog-friendly outdoor tables and casual fare.

Mills Reservation County Park
Mills Reservation County Park, occupying the western part of Cedar Grove, is a large, green recreation area with an abundance of walking trails and majestic wilderness thriving with local wildlife. Your pup will love the extensive park, featuring more than 156 acres of open space to sniff and explore on-leash, as well as the variety of walking and hiking trails ranging from moderate to difficult. You can choose your own path based on your ability, but don't forget to conquer the main loop trail, which can be hiked in about an hour with Fido. You'll be rewarded with magnificent views of Manhattan and New York City from the top.

Lexington Avenue North
Lexington Avenue stretches in the eastern part of Clifton, not far from Passaic. Once you pass the Botany village neighborhood, look closely for a green and marvelous recreation area at the corner of Lexington and Rudolph Avenues. Nash Dog Park is a newly established place for pooches on Lexington Avenue across from Hot Grill. The park features a low fence and plenty of grass and room to play and socialize. This park isn't usually very crowded, especially early in the morning, which makes it pawfect for timid pups. If you want to wear your buddy out anyway, bring some toys with you and prepare to play!

The designated dog area has plenty of room to run within the fenced and well-shaded area, and also provides benches and water drinking facilities.
