Top dog walkers in Desert Shores
Wag! Walkers know Desert Shores
Dog walkers can walk their pets year round with warm weather and little rain in the community. Winters are cool, although temperatures are still usually well above freezing during the day. The temperature dips at night when it can be chilly for long dog walks. If you need to take your pup out later in the evening during winter months, you may require a warm jacket. Summers are very hot with the mercury soaring during the middle of the day. Keep hikes with your hound short and make sure you are well hydrated and do not become overexerted. Rain is not common and rarely hampers regular outings with your pet.
What is the terrain like in Desert Shores?
The community contains 3,351 homes in 22 districts. Dwellings in the area include condominiums, moderately sized homes, and large custom homes. Some of the housing areas are gated and only accessible to residents and their guests. Various desert and traditional landscaping make the area attractive and four artificial lakes provide waterfront properties to many homes. Some residences on the lake have direct access to the water and often have private docks.
Recreational facilities in the community include a lagoon-style pool with a sandy beach, volleyball and basketball courts, and a playground as well as community docks with paddle boats. The terrain is relatively level with only some very gentle inclines that do not impede pedestrians in the area.
How many greenways are there in Desert Shores?
The Aloha Shores Park is located on the northeast side of the community and has recreational amenities that induce a roller hockey rink, bocce ball and tennis courts, horseshoe pits, a playground, picnic areas, and open, grassy, multi-use spaces with some trees. This park makes a great nearby greenway to visit with your dog.
Doc Romeo Park has several ball diamonds, but also a skatepark and playground in a grassy area with paved walking trails just south of Aloha Shores Park which you can enjoy as part of your walk.
Just south of Desert Shores, the Pueblo Privet Park provides a greenway with a hiking trail. There are also some recreational facilities, picnic tables, and a restroom available. The Pueblo Park Trail is a 1.5-mile trail that will take you and your dog through grassy areas and desert landscaping. There is an underpass that can become flooded during wet weather. The trail slopes uphill from the east trail end, although it is not particularly steep.
