Bronx. Over time, this area has become somewhat deteriorated, but recent gentrification
is yielding a neighborhood that is full of things to see and do. There is a lot
of history to be enjoyed along a walk around the streets of this neighborhood and increasingly more and more businesses are arriving to make this a highly
desirable place to live, work, and walk. While you won’t find a pet store in the
neighborhood, you do not have to go farther than the South Bronx to find everything
that Spunky needs.
The climate in New York is known for its hot, humid summers
and often cold, bitter winters, but overall, you will find that you can walk on most days. The snow and rain storms coming off of the Atlantic will
probably give you the most trouble, bringing large amounts of precipitation and
high winds.
What is the terrain like in Mott Haven?
There are no hills for you and Spunky to face other than the ones at St. Mary’s Park. Flat ground awaits you throughout the streets of Mott Haven and, for most dog walkers, this is generally a good thing. Trees are common on the sidewalks of Mott Haven, but you won’t find any grass. The walks here are very urban and you have difficulty finding any soft ground for sore feet unless you head for the park.
