Riverdale is located on the northwest side of the Bronx with a population of just under 50,000 residents. There are a few commercial businesses located in the region and a commercial area on the far southeast side with shops, restaurants, and other services to walk to. Riverdale contains the most northerly point in the city of New York and is situated along the Hudson River on its western border. A train track runs along the river which creates a barrier to shore access for pedestrians. Riverdale covers about 3 square miles with a population density of 19,997 per square mile and is situated on elevated land which provides views of the river, Manhattan skyline, and the George Washington Bridge.

Seton Park is located on the south end of Riverdale and provides 11 acres of green space with an enclosed off-leash dog run. A great place to take your pup to play in the dog-friendly area, this park also boasts recreational facilities and fields, eateries, restroom facilities, and a playground, as well as paved pedestrian ways.

Located along the Hudson River, Riverdale Park provides 144 acres of natural space that is home to local wildlife. There are nature trails and greenways throughout that you can explore. The entire park is designated as a dog-friendly off-leash area and your pup can really get some exercise. There is a fence along Palisades Avenue to keep park-going pooches off the road, however, you should not rely on only this to keep your pooch safe. Keep your dog in sight and earshot so you can recall them to your side when necessary.
