The sub-neighborhood of Ocean Hill is located on the northern side of Bedford-Stuyvesant. It is defined by the Broadway rail line on the northeast, Atlantic Avenue on the south, and Saratoga Avenue on the west side. The large Evergreens Cemetery borders the neighborhood on the northeast side with manicured landscaping. Ocean Hill also has a sub-neighborhood referred to as Broadway Junction which contains mostly commercial and industrial businesses with some residential two and three-story residences.
This area is divided by the Atlantic Avenue/LIRR viaduct and is difficult to access from adjacent areas on foot. Other areas of Ocean Hill are mostly residential with walk-up apartments, brownstones, townhouses, and row housing. Landscaping is limited although mature shade trees line many residential streets and sidewalks and provide relief from summer heat. Streets in the area also follow a grid pattern and, although the area was once hilly, the terrain here after years of development is relatively flat.

The park has many interwinding pedestrian paths including a loop around the reservoir where you can stroll with your pup. Other facilities in the park include barbecue pits, restrooms, baseball fields, basketball, tennis, and handball courts, as well as a playground.
