Flower Hill is a residential neighborhood located in Manhasset, New York. This neighborhood is located on Cow Neck Peninsula. As a residential community, Flower Hill is home to upper-middle-class residents and expansive single-family houses. The St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center, the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society, and the North Hempstead Country Club are also located in this neighborhood. There is also a hotel and a select few restaurants in Flower Hill.

Flower Hill and the rest of Manhasset actually experience fewer sunny days and more rain than the US average. Temperatures range from 25-84 degrees Fahrenheit but can also get significantly hotter or colder, depending on the season. Summer months can get quite hot and humid. Winter months, on the other hand, can be rather cold and have significant snowfall. Additionally, because Flower Hill is so close to the water, the winter months may get chilly winds as well.

As the name implies, Flower Hill is located on a hill, so part of the neighborhood does have significant increases and decreases in elevation. The largest hill is located on the west side of the neighborhood. Additionally, Flower Hill is made of largely artificial terrain with very little natural greenways. Unfortunately, most of the neighborhood does not have sidewalks, so you and Fido will have to share the roadways with cyclists and other oncoming traffic. Thankfully, Flower Hill does have some large trees which provide excellent shade during the hot summer months.

The boundaries of Flower Hill include the Plandome Country Club golf course, Marino Avenue, and Wakefield Avenue to the north, Birchdale Lane and West Shore Road to the east, Northern Boulevard to the south, and Port Washington Boulevard and Manhasset Woods Road to the west. Port Washington Boulevard and Stonytown Road are the two major roadways through Flower Hill.

Unfortunately, there is only one public greenway located in Flower Hill and it is quite small. Flower Hill County Park has a basketball court, a playground, a general recreation area, and a short walking trail. While it is small, it will at least give Fido plenty of opportunities to people watch, run into other pups, and sniff out the new environment! Dogs will need to be leashed at all times. The only other greenway located in Flower Hill is part of the North Hempstead Country Club and golf course which is not open to the public.

Nearby greenways include Plandome Park, Village Green, the Park at East Hills, Christopher Morely Park, William Cullen Bryant Preserve, and several other country clubs. Unfortunately, the nearest dog park is almost nine miles to the west of Flower Hill. Little Bay Dog Park is a small run located by the intersection of Cross Island Parkway and Utopia Parkway.
