Along the northern border lies the waterway between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Waterfront parks boast views of the Manhattan skyline and views of the waterfront. The land in this neighborhood is flat and multi-story buildings provide shade to roads and sidewalks. Some areas have cobblestone streets and trendy commercial areas while many old warehouses in the area have been converted to residential or commercial use. When traveling in the area, pedestrians can make use of sidewalks that provide safe pedestrian ways.
The Brooklyn Bridge Dog Park located under the Manhattan Bridge overpass and the Pier 6 Dog Run further along the greenway to the west provide fenced off-leash areas for your pup to play with other pooches. Main Street Park also has access to a fenced dog run.
