There are lots of businesses in commercial areas along main roadways, especially along Queens Boulevard, which runs through this community. Watch out for traffic in this busy shopping area and along main roads. The area is relatively flat in developed corners with some inclines and heavily treed and landscaped spaces, giving the community a very suburban feel and making walking pleasant. There is a major parkway running to the south and east of the community and the Long Island Expressway running along the northern border which makes walking in these directions difficult. Large parks border this neighborhood to the east and south, which provide plenty of green vistas and give the entire region a park-like feel. Many of the homes in the area have unique architecture not typical in most urban or suburban settings. Forest Hills is a very beautiful neighborhood for walking with lots of original buildings to see, shops to access, and parks to enjoy.
