Homecrest is a neighborhood on the south side of the borough of Brooklyn, New York. This area is often designated as part of the Sheepshead Bay Region and is highly residential with commercial thoroughfares along borders. The terrain in Homecrest is mostly level with no steep hills to climb while walking in the neighborhood. Marine Park is the largest park in Brooklyn and provides 798 acres of recreational and natural areas. There is a .75-mile pedestrian path around the park and several other trails allowing access to natural areas. Marine Park is a dog-friendly, off-leash area with sports fields and natural areas. A saltwater marsh located in the park provides a habitat to local and native plants and animals and a boat launch is popular for local kayaks and canoes. Many dog owners teach their dog to ride in these watercrafts to enhance their greenway experiences. 

Nearby, Manhattan Beach Park is situated on 43 acres and has an enclosed dog run where your dog can play off-leash and socialize.
