Williamsburg is part of the Brooklyn borough of New York City.  The town has been described as having a "hipster" type vibe and has been attracting many artists and writers since the 1970s.  You will find every ethnicity represented here and that is something to be proud of!  As you and your pup stroll the streets of historic Williamsburg, just picture some of the area's famous residents walking the same streets. You will pass by many residential dwellings from single family modest homes to multi-family homes to apartment buildings to mansions.

Many local businesses call Williamsburg home such as the  Brick Theater, the Williamsburg Cinema, neighborhood grocery stores, butchers, bakeries and so much more.  The town also has several schools, from primary through high school, police precincts, fire departments and lots of mouth-watering places to catch a quick bite while you and your pup explore the city!

Williamsburg consists of 2.179 square miles and shares a border with many neighboring towns such as Greenpoint to the north, Bedford-Stuyvesant to the south, Bushwick and Ridgewood to the east, and Fort Greene to the west. The streets are black asphalt and the sidewalks are paved in concrete, so you'll want to keep in mind that they can get a bit hot during the summer months. Bring plenty of water and perhaps consider dog boots for your four-legged friend.

Fortunately, because of its location in New York City, Williamsburg is incredibly flat with no real changes in elevation throughout, making it an ideal place for a stroll for walkers of any experience level. You'll find no challenging hikes, so you may have to venture a bit outside of the neighborhood to find trails that will test your footing. However, you can also choose to mix up your daily walk and go down different streets and blocks for a varied experience.

Let's play!  You know as a dog parent that there is no better way to spend your days than with your little furry buddy by your side.  Make sure to grab lots of bottled water for your pup and his leash and head on over to McCarren Park.  This 35-acre park in Williamsburg has lots of activities you and Fido or Fifi can watch from the sidelines like basketball, football, kickball, soccer, and baseball.  There are even running tracks and lots of open green spaces for you and your leashed pup to throw out a blanket and just chill for the afternoon!  Be sure your pup stays on his leash at all times - unless he is playing at any of the designated off-leash areas - under your control and you do not allow them to chase birds or other local critters. Beyond this large space, there are quite a few smaller green areas to explore nearby.
