This neighborhood is lucky enough to share a border with the magnificent Freshkills Park. This beautiful park is primarily composed of marshland around the river, but there are forested areas as well. You can stick to the trails that run through and follow the bridges over the creeks or you can go on an adventure by canoe or kayak.

Freshkills Park connects to the William T. Davis Wildlife Refuge and Saw Mill Creek Marsh to the north, both of which provide many more hours of marshy exploration. To the east, the sprawling Latourette Park has acres of old forest for you to adventure through. You can go up to the forested Willowbrook Park or up to Clove Lakes Park with its long lake.

With so many natural areas to explore, you and your dog can immerse yourself in nature all day without ever retracing your steps, so you can forget you are in a city!
