The climate in this region of Ohio is a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons and walking conditions vary with the time of year. The proximity to Lake Erie moderates the climate somewhat, however, winters are still cold and snowy so warm winter outerwear is required when walking with your doggy pal. Summers are warm and humid and can sometimes become sweltering depending on the weather patterns over the lake. Be prepared with water for you and your pooch on these hot days.
The terrain is flat and easy to traverse with sidewalks and grassy berms for pedestrians and their canine companions which are perfect for strolling. Residential areas are peaceful, park-like, and hospitable for walking while commercial areas have heavier traffic and dog owners will need to be more vigilant in these areas.
Dibble Park has plenty of open spaces and trees to play with your pup and access to the creekside greenway. Other parks in the region featuring paved pathways, access to greenways, and rest areas include Corbin Park, Wernerts Field, and Foxglove Meadow Park.
