Hillendale is a small residential community located in Oregon City, Oregon. Oregon City is home to the Museum of the Oregon Territory, the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Stevens Crawford Museum, 22 parks, and a handful of historic houses. Hillendale itself is home to a small shopping complex and mall, a movie theater, and the county jail. While there are no pet-related businesses in the Hillendale area, there is a veterinarian and a pet supply store in the neighborhood immediately to the south. Residentially, Hillendale is composed of a mobile home park and standalone, single-family homes.

Winters in Hillendale can sometimes be quite brutal. The winter months typically bring freezing temperatures and several inches of snowfall or freezing rain. Be careful in those cold months and always make sure to catch the daily forecast. In the summer, however, you will experience more mild weather. Your days will likely be warm and dry with average temperatures ranging from 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hillendale, as its name might suggest, does have several hills throughout the neighborhood. However, most of the hills are rolling and shouldn't be too difficult for you and your pup to walk. Thankfully, most of this neighborhood has well-maintained sidewalks so you and Fido do not have to share roadways with motor vehicles or cyclists. These sidewalks are also typically shaded by large, mature trees, so you'll have some reprieve from the sun on hot summer days. Furthermore, Hillendale does have several greenways in case you and Fido need an escape from the suburban environment.

The borders of Hillendale include Warner Milne Road to the north, Trails End Highway to the east, Clairmont Way to the south, and Leland Road to the west. Another major roadway through Hillendale is Molalla Avenue and, as many of the shopping complexes are along the road, it experiences more congestion and high-speed traffic than other areas of the neighborhood.

Hillendale only has two greenways within its borders, but both are rather large and provide different options for you and Fido to explore. The public park is Hillendale Park, located centrally in the neighborhood. This park has a playground, tennis, basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts, soccer and softball fields, a wetlands preservation, public restrooms, and several walking paths. There is even a small creek!

The second public park in Hillendale is Wesley Lynn Park, located in the southwest area of the neighborhood. Only slightly smaller, Wesley Lynn Park has a playground, a walking path, softball and soccer fields, and public restrooms. Both of these public parks welcome dogs, but they must be leashed at all times and owners must appropriately clean up after them.

Finally, there are two dog parks located in Oregon City, but both are at least two miles north of Hillendale. Both Barclay Park and Park Place Park have fenced-in, off-leash areas for your pups.
