East Oak is located south of Cheltenham Avenue, east of Broad Street, North of Godfrey Avenue, and west of the Tacony Creek. This residential neighborhood has some row houses, apartments, and lots of large single-family homes on spacious residential properties. These elaborate homes feature a variety of architectural styles and lend beauty to the area by creating a beautiful backdrop for pedestrians strolling the neighborhood. The area is heavily landscaped with large shade trees providing a canopy over many residential roads.

The Tacony Creek Park is located on the eastern border of East Oak Lane. This large, natural park has a 3.2-mile greenway and the Tacony Creek Trail that is surfaced with asphalt and used by pedestrians, dog walkers, cyclists, and inline skaters alike. There is a footbridge crossing the creek which is very picturesque and the park opens up into large green spaces. Lots of birds and other wildlife make the park their home. Dogs can use the paths but must remain on a leash. Sports fields and recreational facilities are located in certain sections of the park. 

Fisher Park is located a short distance to the south. There are some recreational facilities in the park and paved walking paths that pet owners can peruse. If you want some off-leash time with your furry friend, there are several dog parks in the area including Clifford Dog Park, Curtis Dog Park, and Monks Dog Run and Triangle Dog Park.
