The greater Philadelphia area does experience all four seasons and the weather can be drastically different in those different seasons. Always check the daily forecast before heading outside for your walk, particularly in spring and fall as you never know if the rainy and cold months of winter will arrive early or stay late!
While out exploring Harrowgate, you and your furry friend should not run into many hills. There is a slight decline in elevation as you move southeast in the neighborhood, but it is gradual and should be an easy walk, even for older pups with mobility issues. Along with an easy walk, you and your pup should be safe as most of this neighborhood has sidewalks for you to use so you don't have to share the roadways with oncoming traffic or cyclists. Additionally, as Harrowgate is so near the center of Philadelphia, it is a rather urban environment with no natural terrain in the immediate or surrounding areas.
The boundaries of Harrowgate include East Sedgley Avenue to the northeast, H. Street to the northwest, East Allegheny Avenue to the west, and a railroad to the south. Frankford Avenue and Kensington Avenue, which runs underneath the SEPTA rail line, are other major roadways that run through this neighborhood.
Thankfully, the nearest off-leash area for your furry friend is less than two miles to the south of this neighborhood! Monk's Dog Run is a small, fenced-in area where you can meet and socialize with other local dogs or play a game of fetch.
