Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a dynamic and growing city with plenty to do and see. This City of Steel is famous for its professional sports teams, award-winning cultural district and performing arts centers, iconic art, science, and history museums, a growing food scene, and plenty of parks and urban trails.
Additionally, this neighborhood has sidewalks on all major roads. Many of the smaller roads do not have sidewalks, however. Thankfully, you and your pup will not need to share the roadway with any oncoming traffic or other pedestrians. Elliott is an older neighborhood that was not always well-maintained, so many of the sidewalks may be uneven or have cracks. Be careful and always look where you are stepping!
The boundaries of Elliott include Corliss Street to the northwest, the Ohio River to the northeast, Steuben Street to the southeast, and Chartiers Avenue to the west.
The next largest greenway in this neighborhood is Elliott-West End Athletic. Though not a traditional greenway, this park is composed of several baseball and softball fields. You will frequently see community leagues playing games on weeknights and over the weekends.
Other Elliot public parks include West End Park, Townsend Parklet, and Elliott Park. Thankfully, this neighborhood is also only a few blocks from Emerald View Park, one of the largest greenways in Pittsburgh. Emerald View Park has plenty of walking and hiking trails, and a fenced-in dog park!
