To the northeast, the Pease District Park borders the Shoal Creek and is a popular recreational greenway with large trees and open lawns. There is public art, volleyball and basketball courts, a splash pad, and a playground in the park. Plenty of walking trails in the area are great places to walk with your dog.
The Duncan Neighborhood Park is also located on the east side of downtown Austin and contains a BMX park, heavily treed and open spaces along Shoal Creek, and paved walking trails for strolls with your pet.
