Wells Branch is a suburban community of Austin bordered by Route 35 on the north and east sides, the MoPac expressway on the west, and Howard Lane on the south. Commercial and light industrial activities are situated on the borders of the community with residential areas centrally located.

Commercial and industrial areas are not heavily landscaped with few trees and large paved areas. Pavement can be extremely hot in summer months and damage your pup's paws, so they should be avoided. You can also obtain doggie boots to protect your pooch’s paws from hot paved surfaces.

Homes in the area have generously sized yards that are well landscaped with large lawns and trees. The terrain is flat and there are separate sidewalks on most roads so pedestrians and their pups can easily traverse the neighborhood. There are some multi-family housing complexes in the Wells Branch community. Parks and natural spaces are well distributed, providing lots of greenery and cool shade.
