Oakwood is a tiny neighborhood in College Station situated right across the street from Texas A&M University. The neighborhood has a high percentage of college students given the proximity to the school. College Station started as a railroad stop in 1860, but it was only 11 short years before the university moved in and it has been a college town ever since. The neighborhood is strictly residential and with a lot of foot and bicycle traffic, it is a highly walkable neighborhood. Amenities are never very far away and the retail area is literally four blocks out of Oakwood, making it an easy walk.

The terrain in and around Oakwood is primarily flat with a small amount of elevation heading to the northeast towards the retail center on the other side of the university.
