In the farthest part of Northwest Dallas and all the way out by Denton, Texas, there is an exciting little neighborhood called Branch Crossing where big city convenience meets the neighborly and safe feel of a small town. What is left is a remarkable suburb, perfect for all types of dog lovers.

Although this town is a bit further out, there is no shortage of local amenities given its location so close to Denton. This is especially helpful for dog owners when it comes to running errands for their precious pooch. Instead of having to travel far to find good care for your dog, everything you want and need is right in your backyard! Some great grooming examples of this are the Pampered Pooch and Ultimutt Dog Grooming. In addition, some great vet and animal hospital options include Denton County Animal ER, Petcalls, Denton Veterinary Center and, last but not least, Companion Animal Hospital.

Given that Branch Crossing is actually closer to Denton territory, a lot of the landscape characteristics resemble that area more than they do the traditional set up of a Dallas neighborhood. Many would say this is a good thing because Denton is a bit more spread out and has a few more natural beauties that really help bring a more natural feel to the area.

Although the neighborhoods are still largely artificial with long rows of houses and a suburban feel, beautiful additions like the Lewisville Lake make it nearly impossible to acknowledge the more natural environment just outside the neighborhoods. This is great for dog walkers because they can enjoy the suburban closeness of everything and walk to local shops or restaurants as they please or they can head more toward some of the natural scenery and enjoy a lovely and peaceful time in nature. Either way, their journey will be made easier by the very flat terrain.

This area is very unique because, despite the natural landscapes such as the Lewisville Lake, there are actually not very many parks in the area and almost all of them are neighborhood parks that were man-made. Unlike the usual set up of the area where parks are built around naturally unique parts of nature, the parks in this area seem to have been placed there more for the sake of the neighborhoods than based on the terrain.

Although there are several beautiful sites, most of them are not attached to any kind of park and just sort of stand alone. That being said, there are still a few parks that could entertain someone looking for a calming neighborhood dog walk. One great example of this is Bowling Green Park and Community Garden. With a community garden and orchard, a playground, and picnic tables, you will feel as if you've stepped into a storybook that you never want to leave!
