Home to a sprawling urban village as well as the tallest building outside downtown Dallas, Cityplace is a bustling Old East Dallas neighborhood full of things to do and see. Most of this neighborhood was planned to be very walkable and it's noticeable in the amount of places to go in such a small area. Built in 2001, the West Village is a contemporary living space with many retail and restaurant businesses in the area.

Many of the restaurants in Cityplace feature sidewalk seating, perfect for pets. If you're interested in some shopping, the Three Dog Bakery, a posh pet bakery, sits on McKinney Ave. In the southern part of Cityplace, you'll find a pet supply store and Urban Dogg Dallas, a local pet groomer and treat store. If you have an emergency, CityVet - Uptown is just south of Cityplace in the Uptown neighborhood.

Like most neighborhoods in Dallas, Cityplace is very flat. It's a smaller neighborhood, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll down city streets. This is a great place to walk older dogs or those who tire out quickly. It's also an ideal neighborhood for people lovers. You'll find a lot of people out and about in Cityplace, making it a dog's dream come true to meet as many people as possible!

The most walkable area in Cityplace is West Village. This is where you'll find the widest sidewalks and less vehicle traffic. However, the community does have its busy areas. The North Central Expressway and Route 75 cut across Cityplace and pedestrians have to cross multiple lanes of traffic here. If you plan on going across the neighborhood, keep your pet on a tight leash and stay cautious when walking down these busy roadways.

There aren't many sprawling parks in Cityplace, but you can find a grassy area for relaxing. In front of the Cityplace Events Conference Center, the tallest building in the neighborhood, there is a square with pathways under shady trees and spots of grass. It provides a nice area to get away from the busy road and enjoy a sunny day. The best spot to enjoy your day might be right in West Village at Mutts Canine Cantina. Enjoy a meal on the patio or beer garden and, if you have a membership, let Fido run free in the cantina's off-leash dog run.

In the southeast part of the neighborhood is J.W. Ray Park, a green area with a few athletic courts. Up north, just outside the neighborhood's border is Cole Park, a sprawling greenway with a playground and shady areas. Turtle Creek's trails are also nearby to the west if you want to go on a longer hike.
