Just outside the heart of Dallas, Freedman's Town is a culturally rich neighborhood with big city perks. Although there are no long-term vets in this neighborhood, there is a very convenient Medvet in the area for any emergencies. When it comes to grooming, however, there are tons of options! One of the best options is Urban Dogg Dallas. This unique grooming experience allows you to wash your own pet in a clean, fun environment. Another great option is Oak Clips Pet Boutique and Grooming. Complete with a cute pet shop, this is a great place to make your one stop pet shop. If you are just looking for a quick one-stop-shop experience, there are also two pet supply stores within walking distance. The weather in the area is relatively moderate, however, it can get pretty warm in the summer so make sure both you and your pet are getting plenty of water!

This is definitely an artificial and built neighborhood. However, due to the old age of the neighborhood, it is not as crowded as the average big city area. This means that residents can enjoy walking paths with their furry friends without the added trouble of large crowds. This area, along with most of the surrounding DFW area, is very flat which helps greatly with the hotter summer months and gives dog walkers the opportunity to walk to any number of gorgeous parks or city sights with ease. There are also a few fields and parks in the area if you want a break from the concrete. The close access to a big city also means that residents are never far from a restaurant, gas station, clothing store, or grocery store. This is perfect for active dog walkers who enjoy the opportunity to run some errands while getting their furry friends some exercise.

Although this is a very built city, there is a wide array of choices when it comes to green places to take your pet. This is largely due to a long time Dallas commitment to preserving parks. Dallas is known for some of their gorgeous downtown parks and this neighborhood highlights that beautifully. Some of the closest and most quaint parks for a more relaxing experience are J.W. Ray Park and Walford Park. For a more family-friendly park experience, Exall Park is just a slightly further walk and includes a visitor's center and a playground, as well as occasional family-friendly activities and events.

For the more adventurous walkers, there is the beautiful Griggs Park and Greenwood Cemetery just a bit further into Dallas. Just outside Baylor University Medical center, there is also the beautiful Central Square Park. For a beautiful view of the city, Main Street Garden Park and the surrounding area is the perfect option.
