Knox Henderson is a very walkable area and encourages everyone to head outside for a walk. To get the most out of your walk with Fido, check the weather before going outside. Dallas has seen summer heat waves and severe spring thunderstorms and you definitely don't want to be caught in one of those. Try to plan morning walks in the summer before it gets too hot and watch the radar for potential storms.
You can cross over the highway at Knox Street to find more places to discover, but this bridge is a little busy. Keep your pet on a tight leash and stay aware of passing traffic when crossing this road. In the eastern part of the neighborhood, Greenville Avenue features wide sidewalks along businesses, perfect for some window shopping.
The Katy Trail also offers access to several parks along the way. Glencoe Park features a playground and shady spots to rest and Abbott Park is a small space also perfect for some relaxation. Other city escapes in Knox Henderson include Cochran Park, a sprawling greenway with a playground and plenty of grass for rest. If you're willing to venture out of the neighborhood, you can head west to Lakeside Park where you'll find trails that follow Turtle Creek, giving you scenic water views and the chance to explore the natural setting.
