La L’aceate is a neighborhood in west Dallas, Texas. The community was founded in 1886 and was originally a lead smelting town. Its location is just south of Trinity Groves, a wildly exciting entertainment destination filled with restaurants, shops, and galleries. It is an excellent destination to spend a long weekend away, especially when there are so many facilities for your puppy. There will be no need to worry if you run out of dog food!
Much like the rest of Dallas, La L’aceate experiences a humid subtropical climate. This can make it extremely hot during the daytime in the summer. A suggestion for this would be going out during the early evening or at dusk. This is when it's cooler and you get a lovely view of the orange sunset. In winter, the weather is much less severe. With mild temperatures, it makes it easy all throughout the day to take your pup for a much-needed walk.
The area is a mixture of residential and retail complexes and this makes it look rather artificial. However, dotted around the neighborhood, there are plenty of green spaces for you and your pup to dig your feet into. The neighborhood is also very flat with smooth roads and levelled out public spaces. This makes it easier to take an easy stroll. No hiking boots needed here!
To add to the artificial look of the area, the old Continental Avenue Bridge does give an urban feel to the neighborhood. It was part of a plan to make the local area less about business and more about community. The bridge is a great tourist attraction! It also means the area has a lot of open space to take your pup on a walk. This definitely beats the hustle and bustle of central Dallas and gives La L’aceate a stylish and gentrified feel.
The Continental Avenue Bridge is a great place to take your pup. As a former vehicle viaduct, it has been transformed into a sanctuary for wildlife. The bridge is full of plants, trees, and water features. At sunset, it is perfect for offering sweeping views of the surrounding neighborhoods such as La L’aceate that lies below it. Not only is it doggy-friendly, but a fantastic tourist destination. What more could you ask for?
Just east of La L’aceate is Trinity River, a body of water that is surrounded on both sides by amazing greenery and dog-walker-friendly footpaths. This is the ideal spot to take your pup if you just fancy a simple dog walk. If you want your pup to let out some energy, why not take them off the leash? Here, your pup is completely safe to do so and this a great place to start training your pooch to fetch or recall.
