Lochwood is a neighborhood of northeast Dallas, Texas. This community has churches, a school, and a library located within its boundaries that are within reach for residents. There are also some commercial areas located on the southeast and northeast corners. The southeast shopping center has large box stores and smaller shops and services with a commercial area on the northeast side that pedestrians can walk to.

Dallas weather is warm and dry for most of the year and warm outerwear or rain gear is rarely required. Thunderstorms do occur in spring and early summer and can be severe with high winds. Check local forecasts for electrical storms and avoid walking your dog when dangerous weather is imminent. Summers can be extremely hot and heat-related illnesses can be an issue. Make sure you and your dog are hydrated. Winters can have cool periods and freezing rain may occur which makes walking surfaces treacherous. Be prepared for occasional slippery conditions.
