Los Altos is as far north as you can go before you are no longer in Dallas, Texas. Although the great strip of greenery it follows comes with plenty of beautiful parks, the options on anything else, including pet services, is very limited due to its location so far out from the main city. In fact, this location is so much in the outskirts, some people consider it part of the small town of Addison, Texas. This can make the location less than ideal for some thanks to the lack of easily accessible businesses and restaurants.

However, it can also be the perfect location for others thanks to the calm, small town feel. That being said, there are a few local groomers, supply stores, and vets that are keeping the local pets in good hands. Some of the best include Pet Supplies Plus, CityVet, Odyssey Pets, Dirty Dawgz, and the Preston Road Animal Hospital.

Los Altos is much like the rest of the Dallas in the sense that it is abnormally flat, artificial, and without very many exciting natural views at all. Thanks to the natural layout of the land, it is impossible to have a mountain range, large forest, or exciting waterfall within a walkable distance which can be a deal breaker for some. However, for those who are less concerned with dramatic natural views, there are some real perks to the area that really make this place more than a neighborhood for some lucky residents.

This area also is on the higher end when it comes to having well-taken-care-of local parks which is a great help for those who don't need a huge natural view but do appreciate some pretty greenery to walk their dog in while enjoying the outside. These quaint parks pack a huge punch with tons of exciting features.

This exciting area may not have much, but the parks within are full of excitement and fun that is sure to please all ages as well as any furry friend. Although nearly all of these parks are neighborhood parks, they are so vastly different and unique that underestimating them due to their subtle location would be a huge wasted opportunity.

A grand example of this can be found at Celestial Park. This beautiful retreat offers plenty of trails and steps hand engraved with poetry and quotes lead to an outstanding sundial. This is not exactly what you would expect from a "boring neighborhood park!"

One of the best dog parks in Dallas, Wagging Tail Dog Park, is safe, cute, and fun! Another, more traditional, must-see park is Fretz Park. With sports fields, tennis courts, a pool, and a fully equipped rec center, "traditional" certainly does not mean "boring" for this park.
