Oak Tree Village is a very fun and bustling neighborhood on the far northern edge on Dallas, Texas. This area is just about the perfect suburb with a far enough location away from the large city to have a cozy neighborhood feel while still bustling with local businesses and restaurants.

From beautiful neighborhoods, to busy streets, to relaxing neighborhood park, this area has absolutely every walking option a dog walker could want. They also have a very high number of dog services in the area. Some of the best groomers in the area include Showtime Dog Grooming and Exceptional Pet. A great local hospital option is Pet Hospital of Dallas. With all of these great options, it is important to remember that Dallas gets very hot during the summer months. Remember to keep you and your pup hydrated during your daily walks and try to venture out early when the sidewalks are still cool.

For the most part, Oak Tree Village is much like any other Dallas neighborhood. It is not only full of long rows of houses and businesses which make it highly artificial, but it is also flat in a large majority of the local neighborhoods. However, when it comes to topography, there is a bit more variety than most due to the local streams, creeks, and rivers.

These little waterways have been leaving their mark on the land long before any of us were born and, as a result, they have left some interesting changes to the land. These unique twists, turns, dips, and inclines can add some extra fun to your daily dog walks. River paths are also usually, because there is no traffic, easy to follow, thanks to the long paths following most of them. There is also plenty of flatter terrain for less adventurous dog walkers.

There are several great park options in the area, however, almost all of them are neighborhood parks. Although there are other walking options, such as creek sides and neighborhoods, when it comes to parks, neighborhood layouts are about all you are going to get. Although it can get frustrating having all of the parks in the area look very similar, it is also such a blessing that so many neighborhoods in the area have their own little parks to go to build community bonds, get active, or just get outside.

A great neighborhood park in the area that has a bit more to offer than most is Lake Highlands North Park. This beautiful park features a gorgeous lake with a water fountain, picnic spots with barbecues, sports courts, play areas, a pool, and a rec center. The White Rock Creek Greenbelt is another great and more original example featuring beautiful trails following the creek and much more.
