Royal Lane Village is a neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. Its location is between north and northwest Dallas. The neighborhood is a set of roads and streets with residential housing that lines the central road: Royal Lane. Towards the east end of the neighborhood, there are plenty of pet stores, pharmacies, and vets, making it a great location to take your pup. For example, Hollywood Feed is a pet store just off Preston Road and the store is well known for its enthusiastic staff and knowledge on all kinds of pets.
The weather in Royal Lane Village is rather typical of the subtropical climate of Texas. The average yearly temperature is 65 degrees with summerly temperatures reaching as high as 100 degrees. Winter temperatures are pleasant and mild with the region rarely seeing rain. This makes it the ideal location all year round to walk your pup, although in summer, it would be suggested to find some all-important shade too!
The neighborhood is a pleasant mix of artificial and natural with plenty of green grass verges and trees to keep the area feeling fresh. The whole village is made up of flat streets and lanes, therefore, making it a very easy and pleasant place to walk your pup. Sidewalks line most of the roads and this means you’ll have no trouble getting around on foot. The roads are mostly single lane, encouraging cars to keep to low speeds. This adds to the slow and relaxed feel to the village.
The feel of the neighborhood is represented by its name. Royal Lane Village is a small, quaint, affluent neighbourhood of Dallas and is a lovely village to visit. Large beautifully built houses line the prosperous streets of this area with grand gardens to accompany them. This makes the neighborhood extremely ideal for a walk with your pooch as there are many places to stop and take in the green yet urbanized area.
The main green space in the surrounding area of Royal Lane Village is Netherland Park. This park is small but hosts all of the characteristics of a great dog walking park. Just to the southeast of Royal Lane, the park sits quaintly at the end of Dittmar Place. With a small stream running through it and a pleasant footpath, the park is ideal for a stroll. The park also hosts a large green field, ideal for playing fetch.
Bachman Branch is a river that connects most of the streams and lakes in the area. This runs through the central section of Royal Lane and, although not a large green space, it does provide a sanctuary of wildlife and walking routes for you and your pup to visit. If driving, why not take a 15-minute drive to Bachman Lake? Here, there are many dog-friendly amenities as well as a large footpath to take a walk around.
