Dallas weather can wander into the extremes during the summer months with highs that can easily break 100 degrees during the height of the season. Prepare for your walks by bringing plenty of water and reschedule your outings for earlier or later in the day when the sun isn't beating down heavily onto the pavement below.
Although this can be very limiting and unappealing for some dog walkers, especially those who have an affinity for outdoor adventure, it can be no big deal at all to others. The most important question to ask yourself when considering living in this area is how you usually spend your free time. If you spend large blocks of time outdoors, then this isn't a great fit. However, if you are more drawn towards dinner parties and shopping with friends, this area is perfect.
Another great city park is Belo Garden. This urban garden features a beautiful interactive fountain and really brings some nature back into downtown Dallas. There are also two great dog parks in the area, perfect for finding Fido's perfect soulmate in the concrete forest.
Both Bark Park Central and Deep Ellum Lofts Dog Park are a great option. Another more unique aspect of big city living is the high number of parks attached to businesses or beautiful business lawns. A great example of this is Dealey Plaza.
