Stretching from Houston Street to Lamar Street and from Main Street to just past McKinney Avenue, The West End is the heart of the original city of Dallas and many tourist attractions find their home here. Finding some green in what many people refer to as a “concrete city” can be challenging, but there are some gems in the West End. Take a walk into history at the Dealey Plaza off South Houston Street. The JFK Memorial Plaza is a formal park area across the street from the famous grassy knoll with trees and a walking path for remembrance. These spaces will require observances of any local regulations, however.
Pop over a few blocks to Ferris Plaza and you and your pup can enjoy a water fountain and some nicely planned walkways and resting spots. The fountain is for show only, so don't let your pup drink or play in it!
Go down a block to the east to the Lubben Plaza Park for a beautiful park experience with lots of trees, walkways, and picnic tables. Enjoy these parks with your pup on their leash as Dallas maintains leash laws in these areas.
