Winnetka Heights is a very unique neighborhood because, although it is located just southwest of the heart of Downtown Dallas, it is surrounded by many more natural views than is common in the area. This is a great addition to the region because it allows residents to enjoy the convenience of downtown living while still having somewhere natural to escape to every now and then.

As is to be expected, there are plenty of pet service options in the area along with just about any other service or restaurant type a resident could want. In this area, it is very easy for residents to find walkable pet locations that provide great customer service and a long list of available pet services. Some of the best groomers in the area include Oak Clips Pet Boutique and Grooming, Bruno's Place DIY Dog Wash, Downtown Hound, Bishop Arts Dog Grooming, and Pawlished Pooch Inc.

For the most part, Winnetka Heights greatly resembles the topography and environment that is most common to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. However, there is one outlier that adds some color back to the region. The high number of very large parks in the area really helps add some green to an otherwise relatively dull space.

Although a high number of parks is a common phenomenon is Dallas, due to the city-wide initiative to add and maintain new parks regularly, this area takes this to a grand extreme. This is largely because, along with the man-made neighborhood parks that are common to the Dallas area, there are a few more natural parks following certain natural attractions such as rivers. Annie Stevens Park, one of the two largest in the area,  follows the Coombs River while the largest park, Trammell Crow, follows the Trinity River and is dotted with small lakes all along the way.

Although this area does have some really great and large parks, as far as diversity, there isn't much. Aside from the small neighborhood parks which are perfect for a day of safe family fun, there are also some larger water-based parks. Although these parks are perfect for a more holistic immersion into nature, fishing with the buddies, or taking a relaxing stroll with your pup, there are only a few of them and they are the only other type of park in the area.

The perfect example of one of these more unique nature parks is Trammell Crow. This amazingly large park pretty close to the heart of downtown Dallas features everything from very modern splash pad areas to long open fields with livestock and beautiful skyline views. At this park, you really do get the best of both worlds.

Twelve Hills Nature Center is another great choice featuring plenty of beautiful natural views.
