On the northern edge of the Dallas area, there is a great little neighborhood known as Wolf Creek. Although this town is not so far away that it would be considered country, it is a less populated region of Dallas. This means that there is really not enough commerce taking place for the area to be considered suburban. This can be very inconvenient for residents who moved to the Dallas area for the convenience of big city living because they quickly realize a large majority of their daily errand running will take them out of their neighborhood and all the way into Downtown Dallas.

This also affects pet services, leaving the area with only one decent choice. Although the local PetSmart is much better than nothing, with a pet supply store, grooming salon, pet training options, and more, it still leaves the area lacking in alternatives if you're looking for something specific.

Wolf Creek is very typical for the area when it comes to both environment and topography. Largely, this area is very artificial and flat, however, the presence of a local body of water does help some by adding more hilly terrain and a natural element.

Woody Branch Creek is, unfortunately, too small to really add much at all when it comes to artificiality. However, the erosion that has occurred after years and years of this little creek running has created some hilly paths that are easily accessible and usually very pretty. This is great for walkers looking to get a bit more exercise out of their daily dog walks. There are also some trails along the creek that create a more safe walking alternative to just following the creek line.

There are also still plenty of flatter options for those who want a more relaxed walking experience.

Although this area is severely lacking in businesses and natural attractions, the one area that does much better than the rest is the number of local neighborhood parks. This is a great addition for locals, especially those with children, because it gives them an easy and safe way for their whole family to get outside and get active. However, it is not as great for avid adventurers because one of the key attributes of most neighborhood parks is that the parks are usually man-made and full of artificial attractions. This is perfect for a family outing, but can be a real downer for a serious nature enthusiast.

For those who do enjoy neighborhood parks, Twin Falls Park is by far one of the best in the area. With a playground, walking trails, and a picnic area, this park is a great place for family fun. The sprawling walking trails also allow for a relaxing walk with your pup.
