Gulfton, as a largely residential community, is primarily composed of standalone, single-family homes, however, there are over ten apartment complexes located in the northwest and southwest corners of the neighborhood. Commercially, there are a few restaurants and businesses located on Bellaire Boulevard as well as in the northern part of the neighborhood, closer to the local freeway. You can find several public schools, chain restaurants, a large superstore, and a grocery store.
Thankfully, Gulfton is a rather flat neighborhood, so you and your pups shouldn't experience any steep hills during your daily walking routes.
The boundaries of the Gulfton neighborhood include Southwest Freeway to the north, Anderson Street, South Rice Avenue, Ferris Street, and Chimney Rock Road to the east, Pine Street, Evergreen Street, and Bissonnet Street to the south, and Hillcroft Avenue to the west.
The largest greenway in Gulfton is Burnett Bayland Park. This greenway is home to a community center, a garden, a one-mile walking trail, a water playground, a picnicking area, and several sports courts and fields. Again, there is no dog park located in Burnett Bayland Park, but this is still a great option if Fido needs a rest stop during your daily walks.
Thankfully, the Danny Jackson Family Bark Park is only a few blocks from Gulfton. It is located to the east of the neighborhood in the Bellaire Junction area.
