When walking with your dog in Hillman City, you and your pup need to be prepared with rain gear or you are both going to get very wet! It frequently rains, mostly in fall, winter, and spring and an umbrella is a must. Winters are cool and a warmer jacket may be necessary during winter months. Luckily, sub-freezing temperatures rarely linger and snow is rare, making the outdoors still walkable, even in winter.
Most of the area is residential with moderate homes on well-landscaped properties. Due to the frequent precipitation in the area, landscaping can be quite lush and trees are large and provide plenty of shade.
Public transportation train tracks along Martin Luther King Jr. Way create additional traffic on this thoroughfare. Be sure to cross this road and tracks only at controlled designated pedestrian crossings with your dog securely leashed and under control.
