Although off of a major highway, Ronald Bog Park is a favorite of the Shoreline community. It offers open fields - which do have the tendency to become marshy during heavy rainfall - a scenic pond, and shady footpaths. Dogs will love running and playing in the spacious and open grass or splashing around in the pond if you have a water-lover. With an arboretum and picnic area, there's a lot for two-legged visitors to enjoy, as well.At a popular neighborhood spot, Cromwell Park, Meridian Park residents can rent a covered patio for special occasions. But you don't need to be celebrating something in order to enjoy Cromwell; wide, open grassy areas give you and Fido plenty of space to run and play. There's a walking trail which isn't demanding, making it perfect for whiling away some time on a lazy day.
Less than five minutes in the car can take you to Twin Ponds Park in the Parkwood neighborhood. This park has parking, making the short jaunt there easy on foot or in your car. Meridian Creek runs through this lush, green area and a walking loop will take you and your pup along its chirping waters, with a pit-stops at two ponds and a mini cedar forest.
There's also James Keough and Darnell parks, but both are small and not always well-maintained. For walking a dog, these parks will work just fine if they need a quick potty break, but the Meridian Park and surrounding neighborhoods have better options to offer if you're looking for a fun, outdoor expedition.
